Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was born 64 years ago and grew up in Bukon and Nima. He’s an economist and Lawyer. he practised Law in England, Paris, the Ivory Coast and Ghana where he jointly established the prestigious firm Akufo-Addo, Prempeh and Co.
The eldest son of president Edward Akufo-Addo he ventured into politics at 32, battling the military regimes of Acheampong in the 70s and Rawlings in the 80’s.
Akufo-Addo settled for Attorny-General and Foreign minister in the Kufuour Government, after a failed bid in 1998 to become the NPP’s presidential candidate.
This year he beat 16 others to bear his party’s flag in the December 7 election. Why has he tried so hard for so long to become president?
