Kwaku One on One

Dr. Kwadwo Afari-Gyan, Chairman Of The Electoral Commission Was On KWAKU One-On-One On 17th November 2008

It’s exactly three weeks to the next elections. There’ll be over 10 milion potential voters; 132,000 prospective party agents at 22,000 polling stations. There are 230 parliamentary vacancies, seven presidential candidates —and one man with the ultimate task to ensure that everything, works: and that’s Dr. Kwadwo Afari-Gyan, Chairman of the electoral commission – not surpringly, gray-haired & chain smoking. A former university lecturer, he was appointed to the job by President Jerry Rawlings. He has since run four (4) elections in Ghana. Was this his dream job? Or is it a bloody thankless assignment from hell?
