Kwaku One on One

Elizabeth Ohene, Kwaku’s Guest On Sunday 5th July 2009

Just imagine this: you’re appointed editor of the government-owned daily in an era of political turmoil. The morning after your appointment, 6 Generals, including the Head of State, are executed. You’re against the executions. What will you say in your 1st editorial?

This is not preface to fiction. Elizabeth Ohene was the editor of the Daily Graphic just over 30years ago when the June four era executions took place. She’s been a broadcaster & prolific & far-sighted writer, a very close friend of the Rawlingses in the 70s, and, lately, a politician.
