Mr. Charles Taylor, Former President of Liberia is currently on trial at the special court for sierra leone in the hague, on charges of masterminding war crimes in neighbouring sierra leone. The images in 2006 of Mr Taylor, under arrest & helpless in handcuffs contrasted sharply with those of the flambuoyant, smooth-talking leader who led a rebel movement & later won elections in the 1990s.
In April, the prosecution concluded its case against Mr Taylor. The court concluded that Mr. Taylor had a case to answer. If he’s found guilty, he’ll likely spend the rest of his life in jail.
